A snazzy read!

Wickedly funny and piercingly true. Evaristo hits the mark in her depiction of family, gender, expectations, ageing and illicit love. The story and characters are as colorful as the book cover. The African-Caribbean identity and language is like a song in this bittersweet, moving, humorous and hopeful read.
